PRIOR TO SHARK ATTACK CLOSING THE COMPETITION
With the finals unable to take place due to the close miss of the shark attack, Wilson and Fanning agreed to take equal second and split the prize purse which would have been awarded to the winner. As a result, Adriano de Souza from Brazil will retain the yellow jersey as the current World No 1. He will also be in the key position going into the Billabong Pro Tahiti, the next CT event.
The final day of the competition would have been heavy and a number of excellent jumps were executed prior to the shark attack.
