Surfing The Silver Dragon – Chinese River Wave

ANNUAL TIDAL BORE

The tidal bore which surges down the Qiantang River in China has been dubbed ‘the Silver Dragon’.  It occurs every autumn and is as regular as clockwork.

Some years the fury of the wave surprises spectators and surfers alike who congregate to the witness and ride the thrill of the wave.  The wave starts slowly pounding through the harbor and carries on along the course of the river.

Surfers rally to meet the challenge and ride the annual phenomena and are rewarded with an awesome ride.
